Hi,
This is Chinmay Shah, someone who just entered the 20s and an optimist. I graduated during the pandemic (class of 2020) and started working in tech.
My academic background happens to be in computer science. I have a strong desire to build scalable distributed and decentralized systems which may explain why I am psyched about solving the problems at a global level and building impactful technologies.
Having said that, I am quite optimistic about the world, and even humanity as a whole, I strongly believe that if you want some change, you have to drive this. While I’m not a politician, as a global citizen, I do wish that together, we can build a better future.
Fueled by this mindset, I work a lot on open source, primarily in making privacy-preserving machine learning technologies accessible at OpenMined where I lead the Differential Privacy (PyDP team).
I believe in tech for good, which not only motivates me to work in frontier tech and make them more accessible but also pushes me to make existing technologies more accessible, which was the primary reason why I started writing tech blogs.
I write tech(tutorial) blogs on Medium. Few of them include:
With this newsletter, I plan to cover both tech tutorial blogs, as well as things outside of tech.
I like reading, and over the years I have read a lot of blogs and some books too. But as we evolve, I have watched a lot of Youtube videos on topics too. This leads me to the why of starting this newsletter.
Human knowledge, if not shared with the society does not lead to advancement of the mankind.
Few common examples include when the knowledge of most of the ancient civilizations was lost, or if the only duo knows a particular craft and they didn’t document that anywhere.
The world has evolved because knowledge was transferred from one region to another by traders, which was further developed by the receiving region and it leads to new innovation.
Having said that, I am super excited about this newsletter and I hope you like this too :)
Cheers!
